A Word to Fanscape from Mr. Tony Hawk

Skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk stopped by our offices to get a first hand account of the Fanscape magic and talk about his new action sports website ShredOrDie.com. This is what he had to say. Clearly we've impressed the master!

Spider-Man - Marvel's Most Eligible Bachelor

Yep, that's right -- Spider-Man is single.

Many of us are only familiar with the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man, but long before Hollywood brought us the popular movie, Marvel Comics has been keeping his relationship with Mary Jane alive.
And now, after 21 years of marriage the comic book couple has split. According to USA Today, "In Amazing Spider-Man #545 last week, Peter and Mary Jane make a tearful deal with the devil-like character Mephisto: In exchange for saving Aunt May's life, Mephisto erases all traces of the Peter-Mary Jane marriage from memory. "

Nerds everywhere are outraged. However, I personally think a single Spider-Man is much more entertaining -- upside down kisses for everyone!!

Hey Spidey -- check out this dating site, I'm sure you'll be a big hit with the ladies.

K.I.T.T. Bluth!

NBC announced recently that Will Arnett will be the voice of K.I.T.T. in their upcoming remake of Knight Rider! I'm not terribly excited about this remake but anything with Will Arnett is worth a try. Here's a teaser:

The show premieres February 17th.

p.s. Someone should tell Michael Knight that these are way more energy efficient:

Our friends over at Ceehive have put together a great photography contest in honor of country star Luke Bryan's first hit single "All My Friends Say." All you need to do is submit a photo of yourself in a "morning after" situation (come on -- we've all had them) and you'll be entered in to win an electric guitar autographed by Luke himself. Not familiar with Luke? Check out his video:

And make sure to visit Ceehive and enter in your own photo!

p.s. I'm using this excuse next time!

Pooch Rentals?!

So apparently a dog rental service has just opened up in Los Angeles. FLEXPETZ "originated with a group of dogs lovers who sadly accepted that they could not provide a dog with the full-time care and attention that goes along with responsible dog ownership." Their services allow you to choose from ten different dogs -- anything from Pirate the Boston terrior, to a lab retriever named Jackpot. Sorry to break this to you buddy...but just when you think you've hit gold with a new home, it's right back to FLEXPETZ with you. Not very much of a "jackpot," huh?

Now maybe I'm just a pessimist at heart, but I think this is an awful idea. If someone isn't capable of being a "full-time pet owner," then they shouldn't have the luxury of taking the dog whenever they please. Dogs have feelings too...just ask my dog Dexter.

Who, by the way, stays at my Mom's house full-time because I myself am not capable of being a full-time pet owner. He's happy with the arrangement...

Did I mention how pricey FLEXPETZ is? Customers pay a one-time $150 training fee plus a $99.95 annual fee and a $49.95 monthly fee ($599.40 a year). That doesn't include the dog. It costs between $24.95 and $39.95 a day -- plus tax and up to $35 in delivery fees.

I could buy some serious doggy sweaters with that.

Check it out for yourself: http://www.flexpetz.com/
